Windows 10 Photos App Seeing Deleted Pictures

Recently, I deleted all the pictures from my One Drive space, in an effort to start over and be a bit more careful with the pictures I hold on to.

So I go to the Albums section to create a new album, and all of the previously deleted pictures are still there.  Is anyone else having this issue?

Windows 10 Photos app is looking only at the pictures folder on my local machine of the pictures folder of my One Drive space.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
