I just got a notification from the Windows Store, that the Realtek Audio Control app had been installed, do I want to try it…
The problem? I haven’t even opened the Windows Store app in the last 2 months!
WTF?

I'm not 100% on this, but I recall Windows doing that if you have a device that has a corresponding Store app, which gets automatically installed along with the device drivers.

This is part of the new 'universal windows drivers' model. The driver must be split in two – 1) the driver itself, and 2) its accompanying app. The accompanying app must be listed and installed/updated via the Windows Store. Installing one of these new drivers will automatically retrieve the accompanying app from the store, which is what you are seeing.
