Amazon Prime Now Comes With Free Games Every Month

Amazon is upgrading Prime with a serious new benefit: free games every month. The new free games are part of Twitch Prime, which is basically Amazon Prime. If you are an existing Amazon Prime subscriber, you can connect your Amazon account to your Twitch and start enjoying the benefits at no extra cost.

The new Free Games with Prime program is very much like Xbox’s Games with Gold. However, on Twitch Prime, you are able to keep the games forever after the month’s end which is pretty neat. To kick things off, Amazon is giving away Superhot, Shadow Tactics, Tales from Candlkeep, Oxenfree, and Mr. Shifty for this month. The company will bring Tales from the Borderlands, SteamWorld Dig 2, Kingsway, Tokyo 42, and Dubwars in April.

Along with the free games, Twitch/Amazon Prime comes with the usual ad-free experience on Twitch, some in-game loot every now and then, as well as a subscription to one channel of your choice.

What is Twitch? What platform are the games for? Some more detail, rather than a standard 3 paragraph post would be nice please.

Games with Gold on Xbox Live is a permanent ownership situation – you keep the games you've claimed at the end of the month, and regardless of your Live subscription status at a later date.

In reply to bennett_cg:

I was just looking this up last week. Xbox 360 games with gold are yours to keep, Xbox One titles require an active membership.

In reply to bennett_cg:

That's not my understanding, at least not with XBO. I've never let my XLG membership expire, but I'm pretty sure if you do, then you'll lose access to the games you've previously redeemed using GWG. Now, whether you actually regain access to those if/when you renew XLG at later date, I'm not 100% sure. But you certainly don't get to play them outside of XLG.

Man, those guys over in the premium comments section asking, "What is Twitch?" You wonder if they're new to the web and haven't discovered search engines yet.
