Fortnite Season 6 Launches With Halloween Theme, Pets, Invisibility, More

After weeks of speculations and theories, Epic today launched the 6th season of its popular battle royale game Fortnite. The latest season of the game is launching along with the new Battle Pass, too.

With Season 6, Epic is introducing a new Halloween theme for the game, just in time for Halloween, of course. The season, titled “Darkness Rises”, brings a bunch of dark-themed skins, along with a new Haunted Castle and a floating island over Loot Lake. Loot Lake is still a thing, by the way. It just has a floating island on top of it now.

As for new items, Fortnite is getting pets — yep, pets. You can get dogs, dragons, and other pets that stay with you as a backbling. These pets look incredibly cute, much like you would expect things to work on Fortnite, and they even react to different conditions, like when you are in a fight.

And then there’s the new Shadow Stones — they are scattered throughout the map, letting you go completely invisible. You can even get speed and jump boosts, combined with fall damage immunity. You can’t use your weapons when you are invisible, though, which only works when you are stationary. And when you are moving, you will simply leave a shadow trail behind as you move. But the most epic thing about this new item is that you can literally go through anything in the world, phasing through whatever comes in your way.

Here’s the trailer for the season:

And here’s the new Battle Pass:

Season 6 of Fortnite will last about 11 weeks, with new weekly challenges coming out for those who get the Battle Pass for 950 V-Bucks. There’s a bunch of other things in the update, so make sure to checkout the full patch notes here.
