Spotify Tests Revamped Xbox One App

Spotify is testing a major new update for the Spotify app on Xbox One. The company today started testing a new update for the Spotify app on Xbox with select Insiders, giving them an early look at what’s to come.

Spotify’s new Xbox One app comes with an improved design. The majority of the app has been completely revamped to provide much more of a modern, seamless look and feel. I haven’t tried out the new interface yet but from screenshots I have seen, the interface looks much better than what we have now.

The updated app also brings improved background music support. Now, Spotify will display up to 20 additional playlists under the media controls on the in-game page, so you will no longer have to leave your game to change the playlist you are currently playing. The update introduces support for Cortana voice activation as well.

Spotify will likely ship the new update to everyone once the next major Xbox One updates ship sometime next month.
