Microsoft Announces Its Plans for E3 This Year

Microsoft said today that it will launch its biggest-ever E3 presence on Sunday, June 9 with its annual Xbox E3 2019 Briefing.

“We’ve been hard at work and are excited to share more of our plans for one of the gaming industry’s biggest annual events,” Microsoft’s Will Tuttle announced. “That’s right: E3 is just under two months away and we’ve got a great show lined up for gaming fans around the world. From our briefing to our fan events, the Xbox Experience to the Xbox Official Gear Shop, this will be our biggest E3 presence ever and we can’t wait to share more about what we’ve got up our sleeves for the future. Whether you play your games on Xbox One or on a PC, are fans of RPGs, first-person shooters and everything in between, or just like watching others play games, there will be something for everyone at E3.”

Here’s what Microsoft has planned for the show.

Xbox E3 2019 Briefing. Microsoft’s annual E3 briefing starts on Sunday, June 9 at 1 p.m. PT, and will be available live on the official Xbox Mixer Channel and the Mixer app for Xbox One and Windows 10 for those who can’t attend the show. As always, the briefing will consist of back-to-back game trailers, including those for as-yet-unannounced titles coming in 2019 and beyond. The live stream will feature a MixPot that lets fans collect free content when they sign-in, and it will be available in six languages: English, German, French, Italian, Spanish (LATAM), and Portuguese (LATAM). It will also support English Closed Captions.

Inside Xbox. Microsoft’s showcase for everything Xbox will air a special episode live from E3 Monday, June 10 at 3 p.m. PT.

Xbox Experience. Those attending the show will want to check out the Xbox Experience at the Microsoft Theater next to the Staples Center in Los Angeles, and this year it will be open from Tuesday through Thursday, just like the E3 Expo itself. The Xbox Experience will feature over 100 gameplay stations on the main stage and a massive, dedicated Xbox merchandise shop, Microsoft says.

Mixer activities. The Mixer team is launching the Mixer Dome, a dedicated space in the Xbox Plaza, at E3 this year. At the Mixer Dome, gamers can play, stream, and interact with games and it will feature a variety of unique experiences, including the popular HypeZone LIVE, Mixer merchandise, a live DJ, and more.

Mixer @ E3 LIVE show. The Mixer @ E3 LIVE show will be broadcasting from the Microsoft Theater and the Mixer Dome at LA Live throughout the whole week of E3, Microsoft says. A schedule will be made available later.

Xbox FanFest: E3 2019. FanFest is returning to E3 this year, but you’ll need to tune into today’s episode of Inside Xbox at 2 p.m. PT to learn more. (Microsoft is expected to unveil the Xbox One S All-Digital Edition during this show as well.)
