Microsoft Announces New Updates for Xbox App on PCs

Back in June, Microsoft announced Xbox Game Pass for PC. And along with the new service, Microsoft announced a new Xbox app for PCs. Today, it’s announcing some new updates to Xbox Game Pass for PC at Gamescom. Here’s what’s new.

Microsoft’s new Xbox app now lets you see add friends from other networks, by connecting to Facebook and Steam. Users can also now link their accounts to YouTube, Twitch, Twitter, Discord, and Reddit so their player cards so the links to their profiles on other networks.

The app is also going to be updated to include new filter options that allow you to find and manage your games and DLC much more easily. It’s also improving the download experience for games, by allowing you to select which drive you want the app to install your games on.

And last but not least, the Xbox Game Pass mobile app now includes support for Xbox Game Pass for PC, meaning you will now be able to browse the PC library on your phone. The new feature, which is in public beta for Android devices and a closed beta on iOS, allows you to download games from your phone on your PC, so they are ready for you to play when you next hop in your gaming station.
