Halo: Reach is Now Available on the PC

Halo: Reach is now available on the PC for the first time as part of Microsoft’s reissuing of Halo: The Master Chief Collection.

“Halo: Reach officially joins Halo: The Master Chief Collection with Xbox Game Pass and for Xbox One, Windows 10 PC, and Steam,” a Microsoft representative told me. “With Halo: Reach, players can experience the heroic story of Noble Team, a group of Spartans, who through great sacrifice and courage, saved countless lives in the face of impossible odds.”

Microsoft announced back in March that it was bringing the entire Halo: The Master Chief Collection series to the PC, and that it would do so over time, with each game being released according to their fictional chronology. So Halo: Reach is the first title to ship, since its storyline takes place before any of the other games in the series.

Like most Halo games, Halo: Reach was never made available before on PC. (The original Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo 2 both shipped on PC long ago) But it’s not just on Xbox Live: You can buy the game on Steam as well, either as a standalone title for $9.99 or as part of the entire Halo: The Master Chief Collection, which costs $39.99.

Microsoft says that it will continue to release the other titles in the Master Chief Collection—Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo 2: Anniversary, Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST, and Halo 4—on PC throughout 2020.

I haven't played Halo since the original Xbox, but this is something that I've been looking forward to. It seems like a great way to catch up on what's happened in the franchise over the last 20 years.

Will probably wait until next year to buy, when all the games are completed. I'm not big on throwing money at things that aren't done yet.

If I had the disc version of MCC, will this be available as an update? (Xbox One)
