Microsoft and Sony have separately revealed that the smash indie title Untitled Goose Game is coming to their consoles next week.
“Untitled Goose Game is a slapstick-stealth-sandbox, where you are a goose let loose on an unsuspecting village,” developer House House’s Nico Disseldorp writes in similar posts on both Xbox Wire and the PlayStation Blog. “Make your way around town, from peoples’ back gardens to the high street shops to the village green, setting up pranks, stealing hats, honking a lot, and generally ruining everyone’s day. Now Untitled Goose Game is coming to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on December 17.”
As Disseldorp explains, Untitled Goose Game started as an “offhand joke on Slack” three years ago, but House House turned it into a real videogame. The point of the game? Be a goose.
“Your job is to make life difficult for the people around you,” he explains. “This means the goose will be stealing from people, honking at people, playing pranks and causing suffering. You are a bad goose.”
Untitled Goose Game will normally cost $19.99 on PS4, but it will be on sale at launch for just $14.99. As for Xbox, Disseldorp says that House House will run “a special launch discount for two weeks after release, during which the game be 25 percent off.”
