We knew it was coming and now it’s official, Microsoft will be hosting its next Xbox focused event on July 23rd. The company made the announcement today on Twitter and the company will be putting games front and center.
While rumors of Lockhart continue to swirl, this event is expected to focus on games and not hardware. At the present, the Lockhart console unveiling isn’t expected until August but plans could change between now and the event later this month.

Microsoft is explicitly calling this a “Games Showcase” and I am expecting that we will start to see first-party titles either announced or shown in new detail. The obvious prediction is that we will learn more about Halo Infinite but with Microsoft now owning about a dozen game studios, there should be more first-party titles to discuss as well.
The event is happening at 9am PT, 12PM ET later this month which means we don’t need to wait too much longer to see what the company has been working on for the past couple of years.
