“Sales of Nintendo Switch hardware and software remained strong, leading to an overall increase in sales despite the negative impact of the strong yen,” Nintendo explained in a briefing for financial analysts. “Nintendo Switch has been selling well in Australia and in the Asia region, which since December of last year includes sales in China. In addition, the sales ratio in these other regions is increasing.”

To date, Nintendo has sold 68.3 million Switch units to customers, and it expects to sell 24 million units overall in 2020 alone. The firm also raised its forecast for Nintendo Switch software from 140 million units by 30 million to 170 million units by the end of the year.
