Apple Music is Now Available on Xbox Consoles

Apple Music is now available on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One consoles, just a couple of months after the app was released on PlayStation 5 (via FlatpanelsHD). Just like Spotify, the Apple Music app lets Xbox users stream songs in the background while they’re playing games.

An active Apple Music subscription ($9.99/month) is required to use Apple Music on Xbox consoles. The app uses pretty much the same UI as the Apple TV app, with a top navigation bar providing access to your own music library, curated playlists, radio stations, and Apple Music exclusive shows.

Compared to the Spotify app, Apple Music offers music videos and time-synced lyrics for songs. Apple Music also lets you upload your own personal music collection in the cloud to complete the 100 million songs available on the service. In comparison, Spotify only has 80 million songs on its database.

If you have yet to try Apple Music, you can get a free one-month trial in the app. Be aware that your subscription will automatically renew at the end of the trial. You can find the Apple Music app for Xbox on the Microsoft Store.
