Sony’s PS5 DualSense Edge Controller Launches on January 26 for $199

Sony revealed today the release date and pricing details for its DualSense Edge PS5 controller. The customizable premium controller will be released globally on January 26, and it will be priced at $199 in the US.
In Europe, pricing will be €239.99 in the Euro zone and £209.99 in the UK. Yes, that’s more expensive than Microsoft’s Xbox Elite Series 2 Controller, but Sony also raised the price of its PlayStation 5 consoles in all markets except the US recently.

“The DualSense Edge wireless controller features a host of hardware and software-based personalization options, including button remapping, the ability to fine-tune stick sensitivity and triggers, options to swap between multiple control profiles, and a unique on-controller user interface. It also sports the signature comfort and immersive features of the DualSense wireless controller, like haptic feedback and adaptive triggers,” Sony said today.
The DualSense Edge is Sony’s first premium controller for the PS5, bringing various features previously seen on the Xbox Elite Series 2 controller such as swappable components and trigger sensitivity controls. The DualSense Edge also comes with a carrying case that lets you charge the controller with a USB cable.
Pre-orders for Sony’s DualSense Edge controller will open on October 25 in select markets. If you live in the US, UK, France, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg, you’ll be able to pre-order one on direct.playstation.com.
