Halo Infinite Winter Update is Now Available

Described as the biggest feature update to Halo Infinite yet, the Winter Update adds Campaign network co-op, Forge beta, Mission replay, and more.

“The Winter Update for Halo Infinite is here, bringing the largest feature update to both the game’s campaign and free-to-play multiplayer since launching last year on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Windows 10/11, and Steam,” Microsoft’s Alex Wakeford writes in the announcement post. “Starting today, players can jump into hotly anticipated experiences such as the Forge Beta, Campaign Network Co-Op, and Mission Replay, unlock rewards from the free, 30-tier Battle Pass, and more.”

Here’s what’s new.

Campaign network co-op. Now, you can finally play the Halo Infinite campaign with up to three friends.  It supports cross-play across all Xbox devices and PC, and progress and unlocks are shared across all players.

Mission replay. Now you can replay any of the missions you’ve completed in the campaign and gather any remaining collectibles.

Forge beta. With this eagerly-awaited tool, anyone can create multiplayer levels for Halo Infinite. The beta includes six canvas maps, a new visual scripting engine, object scaling, bot support, huge budget increases, file-sharing capabilities, and more, Microsoft says. And there’s a four-part Forge Fundamentals video series on Halo Waypoint to help you get up and running.

Match XP beta. With the Winter Update, Halo Infinite gets a new progression experience (XP) with Match XP in beta. This system rewards players for completing matches, with additional XP for performance (win/lose, end-of-match placement, and so on).

New multiplayer maps. The Winter Update adds two new multiplayer arena maps—Argyle and Detachment—to the rotation, and both were built using Forge.

New game mode. There’s also one new game mode, Covert One-Flag, which is described as a unique variant of one-flag CTF where the attacking team is equipped with Active Camo and the defending team possesses Threat Sensors.

New achievements. The Winter Update adds 24 new achievements to Halo Infinite, some of which can be completed alone while others require multiple players. You can find the full list here.
