Ubisoft Gives Free PC Copies of its Games Bought on Google Stadia

With Google Stadia shutting down for good on January 18, 2023, Ubisoft announced today that it will give free PC versions of its games to players who bought them on Stadia. Ubisoft was one of the biggest publishers to support Google’s game streaming platform, and some of its Stadia games also support cross-saves via Ubisoft Connect.

“Ubisoft is giving you the PC versions of Ubisoft games you owned on Stadia at no extra cost, and these games will automatically be added to your library via Ubisoft Connect. Note that any virtual currency you have in your games won’t transfer from Stadia to Ubisoft Connect or any other platform, so be sure to spend it before January 18, as the items you buy on games that have cross-progression will follow you,” the company explained.

For players who had access to Ubisoft games via an Ubisoft+ Multi-Access subscription purchased on Stadia, Ubisoft will send them one free month of Ubisoft+ access on PC. Moreover, all Stadia players who either bought Ubisoft games or played them through an Ubisoft+ subscription will also get one free month of GeForce NOW Priority Membership.

If Google Stadia with soon be joining the Google graveyard, the company has already started to issue refunds for all games and add-on content purchased on Stadia. The company also deserves credit for offering refunds for all Stadia hardware purchases made through the Google Store
