Microsoft Reveals the Full Xbox Game Pass Core Library

Xbox Game Pass Core

As Xbox Game Pass Core is set to replace Xbox Live Gold library starting tomorrow, Microsoft detailed today the full list of 36 games that will be free to play for subscribers. Back in July, the company gave a first list of 19 games and said that the full library would include “more than 25 games.”

The launch library includes popular Xbox and Bethesda games such as Doom Eternal, Fallout 4, Forza Horizon 5, Gears 5, and Psychonauts 2, as well as indie games such as Among Us, Human Fall Flat, Stardew Valley, and Vampire Survivors. Microsoft says that the library will be updated “2-3 times a year.”

The Xbox Game Pass Core library will replace the two Games with Gold titles that Microsoft used to offer to Xbox Live Gold members every month. But other than that, nothing will change, including the price. Other perks will remain including weekly deals and discounts and Free Play Days event for select games. “Xbox Live Gold cards in retail stores will remain purchasable and redeem for Game Pass Core, while supplies last,” Microsoft also said today.

Microsoft will also continue to require Xbox Game Pass Core for playing online multiplayer games, as the standard Xbox Game Pass for Console subscription, which now costs $10.99/month, doesn’t include that. If you do want to play multiplayer games and get the full Game Pass catalog (including day one access to new first-party games), you can subscribe to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, which also includes EA Play and Xbox Cloud Gaming for $16.99/month.
