Forza Motorsport is Now Available on Xbox, PC, and Game Pass

Forza Motorsport

Forza Motorsport, the latest Xbox exclusive game from Microsoft is now available on PC, Xbox Series X|S, Game Pass, and Xbox Cloud Gaming. This is the first Forza Motorsport game to be released for current-gen Xbox consoles since the release of Forza Motorsport 7 on Xbox One six years ago, and it’s another blockbuster release for Microsoft after the launch of Starfield last month.

The Forza Motorsport franchise is almost two decades old, with the first game in the series launching on the original Xbox back in 2005. In recent years, Forza Horizon, the open-world racing game series probably enjoyed more popularity due to its more arcade gameplay, but this new Forza Motorsport game should appeal to fans of professional-style track racing with over 500 real-world cars (with 100 of them being new to the series) and 20 different tracks.

Forza Motorsport ships a new engine with support for ray-traced graphics on Xbox Series X. Developer Turn 10 Studios also worked hard to improve tire physics, with the introduction of 8 points of contact with the track surface (compared to one in previous games) resulting in a 48x improvement in tire fidelity results. Players should also notice that AI opponents now have a more realistic driving behavior.

“Forza Motorsport introduces the car building focused Builders Cup Career mode for single-player racers and a race weekend-structured Featured Multiplayer for online competition. There’s also Free Play to create your own races using the more than 500 cars and 20 tracks in the game, and Rivals with Time Attack where you can rise the global leaderboard,” the developer also highlighted today.

Unlike the previous game in the series, Forza Motorsport has no support for split-screen gameplay at launch. Back in August, Xbox head Phil Spencer explained in an interview with Eurogamer that “that’s just a decision the team made based on usage. We see how many people play in split-screen and just decided to put our dev effort where people are actually playing,” the exec said.

One area where Forza Motorsport doesn’t disappoint is accessibility, with lots of driving assistance options that are directly accessible from the main menu. Difficulty options can also be fine-tuned to make the game enjoyable for everyone.

Forza Motorsport is priced at $69.99 on the Microsoft Store and Steam, and you can also get more content with the $89.99 Deluxe and $99.99 Premium Edition. If you play the game with Game Pass, you can also purchase the $39.99 Premium Add-Ons bundle that includes the Race Day Car Pack, Car Pass, VIP Membership and Welcome Pack.
