Nvidia GeForce Now is Getting More Activision Blizzard Games, Day Passes, and More

Nvidia Geforce Now Activision Blizzard Day Passes (1)

Nvidia’s new GeForce RTX Super GPUs aren’t everything the company announced ahead of CES today. GeForce Now, Nvidia’s popular cloud gaming service will soon be getting new Activision Blizzard titles including Diablo IV and Overwatch 2. New Day Passes for Ultimate and Priority memberships are also coming in February.

With its Ultimate tier that provides access to GeForce RTX 4080 servers and gameplay at up to 4K/120 FPS, Nvidia GeForce Now has a major technology advantage compared to other cloud gaming services on the market. As an example, Microsoft’s Xbox Cloud Gaming is still restricted to 1080p gameplay at 60 FPS, and since you’re actually streaming the Xbox Series X version of games, some of them like Starfield or Microsoft Flight Simulator are capped at 30FPS.

At $19.99/month, Nvidia’s GeForce Now Ultimate tier is quite expensive, but the upcoming Day Passes will allow more players to test the service for 24 hours before deciding to subscribe or not. Nvidia said that the Ultimate Day Pass will cost $7.99 and the Priority Day $3.99. The latter is for the “Priority” tier that’s limited to 1080p/60 FPS gameplay on servers with priority access.

Nvidia GeForce Now still has a free tier that lets anyone play supported games from their Steam, Epic Games, or Ubisoft libraries. However, there’s usually a long waiting queue, and gaming sessions are limited to just one hour.

For Ultimate subscribers, Nvidia also has a couple of improvements in the pipeline: First of all, GeForce Now is getting support for G-Sync, the company’s proprietary alternative to AMD’s Freesync technology for reducing stutters and latency on G-Sync-compatible monitors.

Nvidia Reflex, another proprietary technology to reduce latency in competitive games is also coming to supported titles on GeForce Now. “With both Cloud G-SYNC and Reflex, members will feel as if they’re connected directly to GeForce NOW’s RTX 4080 SuperPODs, making their visual experiences smoother, clearer and more immersive than ever,” Nvidia said today.

For Android users, GeForce Now Ultimate will also soon enable 1440 streaming and better mouse and keyboard support. This will allow subscribers to connect their phones to an external display and other peripherals via a USB-C hub and enjoy an almost PC-like experience.
