Microsoft is Discounting Xbox 360 Digital Games Before the Store Closes on July 29

Microsoft has just kicked off an Xbox 360 digital game sale ahead of the closure of the Xbox 360 store on July 29, 2024. A little more than 70 Xbox 360 games are currently discounted, and many of them also backwards compatible on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S consoles. Microsoft plans to add more games to the list in July.

“To celebrate the legacy of Xbox 360, we’re working with our amazing publishing partners to bring you as many price reductions from our online store or from the Xbox 360 Store on the console,” the Xbox team said today. “We’ll be updating this list with more games on June 18, 2024, and on July 16, 2024, bringing you as many repriced games as possible before the end of July.”

The list of discounted Xbox 360 games currently includes several Ubisoft games – with no less than six Just Dance games – plus titles from Square Enix and other developers, including indie studios. However, there are curiously no games from Microsoft’s first-party studios like the Fable or Gears of War series at the moment, though they will likely come later.

As a reminder, even though the Xbox 360 Store is going away in July, players will still be able to redownload previously purchased games and add-ons on their consoles after the store closes. Microsoft is also not discontinuing online services for Xbox 360 games.

The company will also continue to sell backwards compatible Xbox 360 games on the Microsoft Store on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S consoles, as well as xbox.com. However, all digital Xbox 360 games that aren’t backwards compatible will no longer be purchasable after July 29.
