As we’re now halfway through August, the Xbox team has just revealed the second wave of games coming to the Game Pass library this month. Three new games will be joining the service between August 22 and September 3, along with the Call of Duty Black Ops 6 Early Access Beta, which will kick off on August 30.
For the first time in the history of the franchise, Game Pass members will be able to participate to the early access beta for the next Call of Duty game alongside people who pre-order the game on all platforms. Before Microsoft acquired Activision Blizzard last fall, the publisher had a marketing deal with PlayStation that made these early access betas only available for PlayStation players.
One of the main gameplay changes introduced in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is “Omnimovement,” which will let players sprint, slide, and dive in any direction. The Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Early Access Beta will also provide access to brand-new core 6v6 maps, weapons and gadgets, and beta testers will be able to unlock in-game rewards to use when the full game launches on Game Pass and other platforms on October 25, 2024.
If you don’t care about Call of Duty, the Game Pass library is also getting three new games later this month. The first one coming on August 22 is Atlas Fallen, an open world action-RPG released on current-gen consoles and PC a year ago. It will be followed on August 27 by Core Keeper, a survival sandbox game that can be played with up to 8 players. Lastly, the new trucking simulator Star Trucker will coming to Game Pass on day one one September 3.
Three games will also leave the Game Pass library at the end of the month: That includes NBA 2K24, the atompunk-inspired shooter Atomic Heart, and the fighting game Guilty Gear Strive. As usual, Game Pass subscribers who want to keep playing these games can purchase them with a 20% discount.
