Microsoft revealed today the second wave of games coming to the Game Pass library in September. It includes just three games, and two of them are PC-only but coming to PC Game Pass on their launch day.
The first game coming to all Game Pass platforms on Thursday, September 19 is the turn-based tactics title Wargroove 2. The first game in the series previously came to Game Pass three years ago, but it has since left the service.
The upcoming city-building survival game Frostpunk 2 will also join its predecessor on the PC Game Pass library on September 20. Frostpunk 2 has also been announced for Xbox Series X|S consoles, and the original game is already available on Xbox Game Pass for Console, so it’s not exactly clear why the sequel won’t be available for console players as well.
Anyway, Frostpunk 2 will be coming to PC Game Pass on day one, and so will Ara: History Untold on September 24. This is a grand strategy video game published by Xbox Game Studios, and its developer Oxide Games has yet to confirm if the game will be ported to Xbox consoles at some point.
While this isn’t exactly a new Game Pass release, Blizzard’s free-to-play hero shooter Overwatch 2 now offers bonus perks for Game Pass members. The benefits include six hero skins, 30 Mythic prisms to spend on Mythic unlocks, a stackable XP boost, and access to Overwatch 2 Shop cosmetics from prior seasons.
Lastly, Microsoft announced today that nine games will leave the Game Pass library on September 30, including Gotham Knights, Valheim, The Walking Dead Season One and Two, and the Pheonix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy. Game Pass members can still purchase these games with a 20% discount before they leave the service at the end of the month.
