Microsoft is Previewing New Home Experience on its Xbox App for PC

New Home Experience xbox app for PC

Microsoft is inviting Xbox Insiders on Windows to test a new Home experience on its Xbox app for PC. The redesigned Home experience shows aims to better showcase PC Game Pass games and other PC games available on the Microsoft Store in a single view.

“All Xbox players on Windows will benefit from Home, whether you play with Game Pass or purchase your games individually,” the Xbox team explained. “Home brings you the latest games, news, curated recommendations, free-to-play content, and deals.”

The featured content section at the top of the new Home experience will highlight new game releases, events, sales, and more. Below, users will find games that have been recently added to PC Game Pass, deals and discounts, and curated collections and recommendations.

Lastly, the ‘Jump back in’ feature that Microsoft has been testing since May is now available for all Xbox Insiders who joined the PC Gaming Preview. This feature is only available in the Xbox app’s Compact mode that’s optimized for Windows-based gaming handhelds, and it lets users click on any game card shown in the Jump back in row to go directly to its game hub and launch the game.

Microsoft said today that it has been testing different designs internally for this new Home experience, adding that these improvements have been inspired by user feedback. What the team wants to do is “making it faster and easier to find your next favorite game,” and there’s certainly still room for more improvements.
