The Xbox team is inviting Xbox Insiders to test a new AI-powered support virtual agent designed to solve the most common issues gamers can encounter on Xbox consoles. This new AI agent can communicate via voice and text, and it will answer questions using relevant information from the official Xbox support website.
This new Xbox support virtual agent is not that different from other chatbots you may have seen elsewhere. However, Xbox Insiders can choose between two different voices, like or dislike its answers, and provide more detailed feedback to the Xbox team. Under every response from the chatbot, a message also explicitely says that “responses are generated by AI and may include inaccurate information.”
“If the Support Virtual Agent cannot solve the issue, you can request to speak with a live support agent as long as it is within Xbox Support’s normal hours of operation,” the Xbox team explained. Support chatbots are often not so great at providing better information than a simple Google search would do, but this new Xbox support agent should still be able to help with the most basic Xbox console and game support issues.

Xbox Insiders can try this new AI support agent by going to support.xbox.com while signed into their account registered with the Xbox Insider Program. The Xbox team says that its new support agent is only available for English users in the US, but I had no issues accessing it from Europe.
While Microsoft has been all in on AI for quite some time now, the Xbox team seems to be on a different pace. However, a new Xbox system update that was released last week quietly added support for natural language search on the Microsoft Store.
“This new search feature returns relevant results for queries such as “cozy farming games with fishing”, “FPS games with zombies”, or “puzzle games for kids”. Natural Language Search can also handle misspellings, acronyms, synonyms, and other variations much better than traditional search services,” the Xbox team explained in the release notes. This new Xbox update also made the thumbstick calibration tool in the Xbox Accessories app compatible with Xbox Elite Series 2 controllers.
