If Nintendo isn’t present at CES 2025 in Las Vegas this week, a couple of accessory makers came to the annual trade show to show off some accessories for the “Nintendo Switch 2.” A mockup of the new console made headlines earlier this week, and Genki, the company that made it claimed to have obtained the new console on the black market ahead of its possible release in April.
While these aren’t the first leaks about the successor to the Nintendo Switch, the Japanese company did feel the need to address the rumors this week. “These images and videos are not official,” a Nintendo representative told the Japanese news outlet Sankei (via VGC).

The Nintendo DS reached 154.02 million lifetime sales, while the Switch sold 146.04 million units since its release in March 2017.
While Nintendo said that it would reveal the successor to the Switch before the end of March 2025, the company did have something new to announce this week: A partnership with Lego to create a replica of the Game Boy in Lego form. The Lego version of the iconic handheld console won’t be available until October 2025, however,
