Xbox Cloud Gaming Adds Invite Links, Expands Stream Your Own Game Collection

Xbox Cloud Gaming Invite Links

Microsoft is now making it easy for gamers streaming games via Xbox Cloud Gaming to invite friends to join their gaming sessions. Using new invite links, cloud players can now invite other Game Pass Ultimate members to join their game via their web browser or supported TV.

To create an invite link, Xbox Cloud Gaming users will need to open the Xbox Guide, go to the game invite menu, and then go to the “Anyone” tab. The shareable invite link will appear there, and it can also be revoked at any time to prevent new players from joining.

People receiving invite links will need to open them in a web browser that supports Xbox Cloud Gaming (you should be fine with any Chromium-based browser). Again, an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription is required to join the gaming session. To play on smart TVs, players will need to click the “Join on a different device” button on the invite page to receive a short code to enter on the Xbox app on their TV.

Another Xbox Cloud Gaming feature that’s now available for all users today is a new network quality indicator to track the quality of the network connection. There’s also an option to display stream statistics as an overlay.

Starting today, the Xbox Stream your own game collection is also adding seven new titles to the list of 50+ cloud playable games: The latest additions include Blasphemous 2, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, Slime Rancher 2, Subnautica, Subnautica: Below Zero, The Talos Principle 2, and Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered.

Earlier this month, a previous Xbox system update added support for larger external drives. Today, Microsoft is also rolling out a new firmware update for Xbox wireless controllers that brings “improvements to thumbstick auto-centering, trigger adjustments, and mouse-to-thumbstick inputs,” the Xbox team said. This controller update can be downloaded via the Xbox Accessories app for Xbox or PC.
