GTA V and its Enhanced PC Version Are Coming to Game Pass on April 15

GTA V Game Pass Enhanced PC Version

GTA V is coming back to the Game Pass library next week on April 15, and it’s also coming to PC Game Pass for the first time. PC gamers will get the “GTA V Enhanced” version of the game that Rockstar Games released as a free update last month.

GTA V was last added to Game Pass in July 2023, and it was removed from the library six months later. This is undoubtedly an expensive game to license for Microsoft, but for its Game Pass comeback, the company will also make GTA V available on its new Game Pass Standard tier in addition to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass.

Game Pass members on Xbox will have access to both the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S versions of the game, which don’t support crossplay multiplayer in GTA Online. PC Game Pass members will also have access to the “legacy” version of the game in addition to the new “Enhanced” version, which also doesn’t support crossplay with the previous one.

On PC, GTA V Enhanced adds support for higher resolutions and framerates, ambient occlusion and global illumination, ray-traced shadows and reflections, AMD FSR and NVIDIA DLSS, and faster loading times using Microsoft’s DirectStorage technology. There’s also enhanced audio with Dolby Atmos and native support for the PS5 DualSense’s adaptive triggers.

The comeback of GTA V on Game Pass is quite timely as Rockstar Games prepares to release GTA VI in the fall of 2026. GTA V is the second best-selling game of all time, with 210 million copies sold since its 2013 launch. It will be interesting to see if GTA VI can surpass that. The game will launch first on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S later this year, with a PC version likely coming in 2026.
