Sony’s PS5 DualSense controllers will soon add support for multiple Bluetooth connections. In a post on X, the PlayStation team announced that an update coming later this year will make it possible to pair DualSense controllers to multiple devices at once.
Sony plans to share more details about how the feature will work at a later date. In the meantime, we can assume that it will make it possible to connect the same controller to a PlayStation 5 console and a PC or a smartphone/tablet and switch between devices on the fly.

As you may know, this is something Microsoft already supports on its Xbox Wireless Controllers, with a twist: Xbox Controllers connect to Xbox consoles via Microsoft’s proprietary Xbox Wireless protocol, but they also support Bluetooth connections with phones, tablets, and PC. That makes it possible to connect a controller to a console and another supported device via Bluetooth and easily switch between them by double-pressing the controller’s Pair button.
The PlayStation 5 is the most popular current-gen console on the market, and it’s good to see Sony making its DualSense controller a bit more versatile. On a related note, the company’s PSVR2 Sense controllers will soon become compatible with a new headset, the Apple Vision Pro. This will be enabled with the release of visionOS 26 later this year, which will allow Vision Pro owners to enjoy a new class of games on the headset.
