Xbox Announces 2026 Games Showcase and Gears of War: E-Day Direct on June 7

Xbox Games Showcase 2026 Gears of War E-Day Direct

Xbox’s Annual Games Showcase will air on Sunday, June 7, 2026 at 10 AM, and it will be followed by the Gears of War: E-Day Direct. The latter will be a deep dive into the upcoming prequel to the original Gears of War game, which was re-released on all platforms (including PlayStation 5) back in August 2025.

The annual Xbox Games Showcase will offer “first gameplay looks and huge news on upcoming titles from our first-party studios across the Xbox family, as well as our third-party partners around the globe – from the biggest franchises to soon-to-be indie darlings,” the Xbox team said today. I wouldn’t be surprised if the upcoming Fable reboot and Halo: Campaign Evolved, an Unreal Engine 5 remake of the original Halo game, are also part of the show. Moreover, Microsoft will want to show the next Call of Duty game and other titles that have been in development for years, including Clockwork Revolution, State of Decay 3, and Marvel’s Blade.

As the Xbox brand celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, the team also announced a special in-person FanFest experience in Los Angeles on June 7. Xbox fans can expect “a look back at the last 25 years, alongside a forward view of what’s next.” US adults can visit this page to enter for a chance to win free tickets.

This year’s Xbox Games Showcase will be the first edition of the annual event under the leadership of Asha Sharma, the new CEO of Microsoft Gaming. The exec expressed her ambition to “return to the renegade spirit that built Xbox,” and the show will be a good opportunity for the team to show that they still care about their core console audience.
