Discord Nitro Gains Xbox Game Pass ‘Starter Edition’ Perk

Discord is evolving its Nitro subscription today to add a new Xbox Game Pass ‘Starter Edition’ perk and other benefits. There’s no price increase for Discord Nitro, which remains available at $9.99/month or $99.99/year.

This new ‘Starter Edition’ of Game Pass includes over 50+ PC and console games, including Fallout 4, Stardew Valley, DayZ, Deep Rock Galactic, Overcooked 2, Grounded, and more. The Discord team said that more games will be added to the library over time.

In addition to this evolving list of games, Discord Nitro members will also get access to 10 hours of cloud gaming. “When you see a friend playing something you want to try, whether in their game stream or Discord game activity, look for the ‘Play’ button and select ‘Xbox Game Pass’ to start playing,” the Xbox team explained.

Discord Nitro subscribers will also get other perks, including Gear discounts from Logitech G and SteelSeries, and extra orbs each month to spend on cosmetics. Soon, Xbox Game Pass members will also get access to Soon, eligible Xbox Game Pass subscribers will also receive 250 Discord Orbs each month, 1.2x extra Orbs when completing Quests, and Discord Shop discounts.

Microsoft has already teamed up with Discord to integrate Discord voice chats and live streaming into the Xbox OS, and these Discord Nitro updates look like a great way to get more people to discover Game Pass and Xbox Cloud Gaming. “We’ll keep working alongside Discord to bring players closer together,” the Xbox team said today.
