It’s business as usual for the Xbox team today after CEO Asha Sharma announced 3,600 job cuts yesterday. Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass service, which currently has around 30 million subscribers (down from 34 million in February 2024), will get eight new games in July, including Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2, the survival crafting game The Planet Crafter, and more.
Palworld, the Pokemon-inspired monster-taming game that’s been on Game since its launch in early access in January 2024, will also get its 1.0 update this Friday, July 10. “Due to the large number of changes to the game, including overhauls to mechanics and new content, we believe that starting a new character will give you the best experience of Palworld,” developer Pocketpair explained last month.
Here is what’s included in the first wave of new Game Pass games for July:
Lastly, 10 games will also leave the Game Pass library on July 15. The list of soon-to-be-removed games includes Dungeons of Hinterberg, EA Sports FC 24, Stellaris, Golf with YouT Friends, Minami Lane, Powerwash Simulator, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Splitgate: Arena Reloaded, Super Fantasy Kingdom, and Techtonica. As usual, Microsoft is offering a 20% discount on these games while they’re still on Game Pass.
