Rockstar Games to Offer “Extended Look” at GTA on August 27

Rockstar Games is finally ready to show some official gameplay for GTA VI. On August 27, the developer will show an “extended look” at the game on Netflix at 3 PM ET. The video will also be published on the Rockstar Games YouTube channel and the Grand Theft Auto VI site at 9PM ET on the same day.

Rockstar Games previously teamed up with Netflix to make the remastered Grand Theft Auto trilogy and Red Dead Redemption available to Netflix subscribers on mobile devices. Premiering what should be the game’s first gameplay trailer on the subscription service is an interesting choice, though it’s in line with Netflix’s growing ambitions.

“Grand Theft Auto reveals have become cultural moments in their own right. The anticipation and fandom around Grand Theft Auto VI is unprecedented, and we’re honored that Rockstar Games has partnered with us to debut the next part of the Grand Theft Auto story with Netflix members first,” said Brandon Riegg, VP of Nonfiction Series at Netflix. “It’s a reflection of what we hope Netflix is becoming: a place where the most ambitious storytelling, from any medium, can find the biggest possible audience.”

So far, Rockstar has only shown two cinematic trailers for GTA VI, and the last one aired on May 6, 2025. The game has been delayed twice, and it’s now set to be released on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19. Notably, the physical version of GTA VI will include a download code and no disc in the box.
