The new Commodore is bringing one of the most highly acclaimed Amiga games series to the PC, XBOX Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and Switch 2. Alien Breed 35th Anniversary Collection consists of the original six Alien Breed games, originally released on the Amiga, but with modern dual-stick control support, new Horde and (co-op) Rush modes, save states, screen filters, and rumble support.
“The Alien Breed franchise is a cornerstone of the Commodore Amiga library,” Commodore explains. “As a part of Commodore’s mission as a Public Benefit Corporation mission to preserve gaming history and to expand access and awareness, we’re proud to publish the Alien Breed 35th Anniversary Collection. Everyone should feel the terror we’ve felt in our chests (praying and praying it was just anxiety, not a growing parasite).”
Games in this bundle include Alien Breed, Alien Breed: Special Edition 92, Alien Breed 2: The Horror Continues, Alien Breed: Tower Assault, Alien Breed: 3D, and The Killing Grounds. It also includes a virtual museum with original physical media, marketing assets, soundtracks, developer interviews, and behind the scenes information about cancelled projects like Alien Breed for the Sony PSP and Alien Breed RTS.
Alien Breed 35th Anniversary Collection is coming to Steam, GoG, Epic Games Store, XBOX, and PlayStation on September 24 and then to Nintendo Switch later in Fall 2026. You can add it to your Steam wish list now. And though Commodore notes that this bundle isn’t available for current or historical Commodore hardware, this is the first step towards making classic Commodore titles available to modern audiences as part of the company’s retro • futurism mission, and there’s more on the way.
