Mythic Achievements Are Xbox’s Answer to PlayStation’s Platinum Trophies

Xbox finally has an answer to PlayStation’s Platinum trophies, which are awarded when gamers unlock all achievements for a PlayStation game. The Xbox version of Platinum trophies is called “Mythic Achievements,” and these new achievements are available for select Xbox Insiders starting today.

“You earn a Mythic Achievement when you complete all original achievements for a game. Achievements added later through DLC or updates aren’t required, and once you’ve earned Mythic status, it’s yours to keep,” the Xbox team explained.

Mythic Achievements will be automatically unlocked for games that Xbox players have already fully completed, and that also includes Xbox 360 titles. On Xbox consoles, the Gaming tab on Xbox profiles will also indicate the number of Mythic Achievements that have been unlocked alongside the number of total achievements.

The Xbox team acknowledged that Mythic Achievements were one of the top-requested features from Xbox players. It’s not uncommon to hear PlayStation gamers brag about how many games they manage to “platine,” and soon, Xbox gamers will be able to do the same.
