GTA VI Will Take Up to 212 GB of Storage on PS5 and Xbox

GTA VI Pre-loading

Rockstar Games announced today that GTA VI will be available for pre-loading on November 10 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles ahead of its November 19 release. The company also revealed that the much-anticipated game will require up to 212 GB of storage on current-gen consoles.

In comparison, Red Dead Redemption 2, the last game Rockstar Games released during the PS4 and Xbox One generation, requires 105GB of storage on my Xbox Series X. And unlike GTA VI, that game does have a multiplayer mode.

GTA VI’s massive size is more likely to be an issue on Microsoft’s 500GB Xbox Series S, which only has 364 of usable storage. That doesn’t leave a lot of room for other current-gen games, especially when something like Call of Duty: Warzone already requires more than 100GB of storage.

It’s good to see that Rockstar Games is giving gamers with a slow Internet connection a full week to pre-load GTA VI. It’s the first game in the series to be only available digitally, and code-in-box versions for both Xbox and PlayStation consoles should be available from Amazon and other retailers beginning November 12.

The business world is likely to slow down on November 19 as millions of players get their hands on one of the most-anticipated games of all time. Are you already planning to take some days off to play GTA VI? Sound off in the comments below!
