It’s June 1, so you know what that means: it’s time to take a peek at the free Xbox One and Xbox 360 games Microsoft is giving away this month to Xbox Live Gold subscribers. And this month, Microsoft is offering two free games on both consoles. Sort of.
As usual, the Xbox 360 games look pretty incredible, while the Xbox One offering(s) are less so. But here’s what Xbox Live Gold subscribers can get for free this month:

Normally $19.99, Massive Chalice is available for free all month. It is described as “a tactical strategy game set on an epic timeline. As the Immortal Ruler of the Nation, you’ll take command of its heroes, forge marriages to strengthen your Bloodlines, and battle a mysterious enemy known as the Cadence in a war lasting hundreds of years.”
Additionally, Pool Nation FX—normally $13.99—is still available for free to Xbox One users this month for some reason.  It was free in April and May as well.
Just Cause 2 normally costs $14.99 ERP and is available from June 1 to 15 for Xbox 360 users. “As agent Rico Rodriguez, your orders are to find and kill your friend and mentor who has disappeared on the island paradise of Panau. With the unique grapple and parachute combo, BASE jump, hijack and create your own high-speed stunts. With 400 square miles of rugged terrain and hundreds of weapons and vehicles, Just Cause 2 defies gravity and belief.”
Then, from June 16 to 30, you can snag Thief, which is normally $29.99. “What’s yours is mine. Garrett, the Master Thief, steps out of the shadows into the City. In this treacherous place, his unrivalled set of skills is the only thing he can trust. As an uprising emerges, Garrett finds himself entangled in growing layers of conflict. Lead by Orion, the tyrannized citizens will do everything they can to claim back the City from the Baron’s grasp. If Garrett doesn’t get involved, the streets will run red with blood and the City will tear itself apart.”
Game on.
