Coming in April: Gears of War 4 Multiplayer Beta

Playing Gears of War: Ultimate Edition on Xbox One or Windows 10 isn’t just rewarding in its own right—I actually finished the game, again, on Xbox One by the way—it’s the best way to get in on the action in the coming Gears of War 4 Multiplayer Beta.

In April, Microsoft will launch the first Gears of War 4 Multiplayer Beta exclusively on Xbox One. Here’s the schedule, and how you can qualify to join the beta:

April 18. Gamers who have played Gears of War: Ultimate Edition on Xbox One or Windows 10 will start receiving tokens “in waves” through the Xbox Live messaging system for early access to the beta. Which, again, will be on Xbox One and will start that day.

April 24. The Gears of War 4 Multiplayer Beta on Xbox One heads to the public: all qualifying* Xbox Live Gold members on Xbox One will be invited to join the beta until it ends.

May 1. The Gears of War 4 Multiplayer Beta on Xbox One ends.

Notice that little “**” above? Wondering what “qualifying” means? It means that you must play Gears of War: Ultimate Edition on Xbox One or Windows 10 between March 1 and April 11. You just have to play the game.
