Microsoft Launches Xbox Bounty Program

Microsoft is launching a new Xbox program this week. The company is introducing the new Xbox Bounty Program this week, which will reward security researchers for uncovering security vulnerabilities on the Xbox platform.

Eligible reports can get rewards ranging from $500 to $20,000, with higher awards possible depending on the report quality and vulnerability impact.

“Since launching in 2002, the Xbox network has enabled millions of users to share their common love of gaming on a safe and secure service. The bounty program supplements our existing investments in security development and testing to uncover and remediate vulnerabilities which have a direct and demonstrable impact on the security of Xbox customers,” said Chloe Brown, Program Manager at Microsoft Security Response Center.

If you are familiar with bounty programs, the Xbox Bounty Program is no different. The rewards vary depending on the security impact, as well as the report quality, and there are some eligibility requirements your vulnerability submission must meet in order to be eligible for a bounty.
