Halo’s Master Chief Comes to Fortnite

We may not be getting a new Halo game this year, but its main protagonist, Master Chief, is coming to Fortnite. The bad news? You have to pay for it.

“Whether you’re an OG Xbox player, finished the fight on Xbox 360, or faced the Forerunner on Xbox One, there’s no hero more synonymous to the Xbox family as the Master Chief,” Fortnite’s Michael House explains. “The Master Chief is the next figure from across realities to join the hunt in Season 5. Starting right now, suit up as the Chief in Fortnite and take on your next operation.”

My only hope is that Master Chief—and it is “Master Chief,” not “The Master Chief”—has the moves needed to succeed in Fortnite. The dance moves.

Anyway, gamers who purchase the Master Chief Bundle or Master Chief outfit using in-game V-Bucks and play a match as Master Chief in Fortnite will unlock Master Chief’s Matte Black Style (seen in the image above). That said, I somehow had some V-Bucks, so I acquired the bundle at no cost and the matte black style was added without me needing to play.
