Microsoft announced today that it has added FPS Boost to five “legendary” Bethesda games on Xbox Series X|S.
“Hot on the heels of officially welcoming Bethesda’s world-renowned studios to the Xbox family, we’re excited to announce that five of the biggest titles from their vast catalog of games will all be updated today to enable FPS Boost on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S,” Microsoft’s Will Tuttle writes. “And it’s not just owners of these titles that get to take advantage of FPS Boost; all these titles are available with FPS Boost for Xbox Game Pass members too.”
Those five titles are Dishonored: Definitive Edition, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition, Fallout 4, Fallout 76, Prey. As Mr. Tuttle notes, FPS Boost can nearly double the framerates on compatible titles when compared to the original game playing on Xbox One. And so these five games are all going from 30 fps to 60 fps.
Interestingly, some games require a resolution reduction to achieve those framerates, and so Microsoft will not enable FPS Boost automatically when that’s the case. Of the five new FPS Boost games announced today, Fallout 4 and Fallout 76 both fall into this bucket.

There was already a FallOut 4 60fps mod that did not lower the resolution.
