As June is almost upon us, Microsoft has detailed what to expect from the June Xbox Update that will be released on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S consoles tomorrow. The main new feature is related to secret Xbox achievements, which gamers will now be able to reveal on Xbox consoles and the Xbox app for PC, Android, and iOS.
“If you don’t mind spoilers and want a hint on any of the achievements in the games you’re playing, it’s easy to find the secret achievement details on your Xbox,” explained Eden Marie, Engineering Lead at Xbox. “From within a game, open the guide and go to Game activity > Achievements. When you see a secret achievement, you can now reveal details like the title, achievement description, and Gamerscore. And after you peek, you can go back and hide it or continue to display the details.”

Not all Xbox games include Xbox achievements as it’s up to game developers to add them or not. However, adding the option to reveal details about hidden achievements replace the need to browse the web to find more information about them.
According to Marie, the June Xbox Update should improve how the Xbox OS checks for game updates. “You will also see improvements to the speed and reliability of detecting available updates, both in your collection and when you launch a game,” the Xbox Engineering lead explained.
The June Xbox update will start rolling out tomorrow at 8 AM PT. Once it’s available, you can download it by going to Settings > System > Updates.
