Those who digitally preorder Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II will gain access to the campaign early, Activision revealed today. This is in addition to accessing the multiplayer beta in September.
“Can’t decide which game mode to start with?” Activision’s Daniel Noel writes in the announcement post. “Make it an easy decision by digitally preordering Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II on Xbox, granting access to the single-player, globe-trotting campaign up to one week prior to the release of the game on October 28.”
The COD: Modern Warfare II campaign will feature missions in Europe, Asia, and the Americas, and will include blow-out action sequences as well as stealth missions, presumably like the original version of this game. But that’s about all the details we have on the campaign for now.
Preordering the game also grants gamers multiplayer beta early access starting Thursday, September 22, which will be available for an entire weekend. (This will be available with digital and retail preorders.) On Xbox, beta early access for preorders starts at 10 am PT on that date, and it will require an Xbox Live Gold subscription. Then, at 10 am on Saturday, September 24, anyone on Xbox can jump into the open beta, with crossplay enabled. The beta ends Monday, September 26 at 10 am PT.
Activision will reveal more information about the game and the next Warzone at a Call of Duty: Next virtual event that goes live on September 15, 2022.
The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II – Cross-Gen Bundle costs $69.99 and includes the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S versions of the game, while the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II – Vault Edition costs $99.99 and adds the Ghost Legacy Pack and the Final Judgement Bundle.
