July Update for Xbox Delivers Two Major New Features for PC Gamers

The July Xbox update is here, and it delivers two major new features for PC gamers, plus a few other perks.

“These updates are part of a broader effort to make the Xbox experience on PC even better and bring more of what players love about Xbox into more places,” Xbox senior product marketing manager Dean Shimabukuro writes. “Whether you’re streaming your own games, jumping back into the cloud, or earning rewards just for playing, it’s all about giving you more control, more flexibility, and more reasons to play your way.”

Here’s what’s new.

Stream your own games on PC. Previously tested in the Xbox Insider Program, this feature lets you stream any of the 250+ compatible games you won directly through the Xbox app in Windows, with no additional downloads or purchases required. This feature is already available on Xbox consoles, Meta Quest, and other supported devices. And many more games are coming soon, including Five Nights at Freddy’s, RoboCop: Rogue City – Unfinished Business, Rugby League 26, and a lot more.

Cross-device history. Also previously tested in the Xbox Insider Program, this feature lets you pick up where you left off in a game on any device, including the PC. Tied to this, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can also access all cloud-playable titles in their Xbox game library, including console-only games, in the Xbox app in Windows.

Rewards with Xbox. You can now keep up on your Xbox rewards through the Xbox app in Windows.
