Xbox is Coming to LG TVs

Microsoft announced today that it has partnered with LG to bring the Xbox app to select LG smart TVs and the Game Pass Ultimate catalog to the Gaming Portal.

“Today, we’re excited to announce our collaboration with LG Electronics to bring the Xbox app to their new LG Smart TVs later this year,” Microsoft corporate vice president Lori Wright writes. “This means Game Pass Ultimate members will be able to play their games directly from the Xbox app on supported LG Smart TVs via Xbox Cloud Gaming. This gives players even more choice in how they enjoy their favorite games.”

All Xbox gamers with a compatible LG smart TV will be able to stream their own games from their console to the TV using the “Stream your own game” feature Microsoft is now testing with the Xbox Insiders program. And those with an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription will be able to browse and stream the catalog directly in the LG Gaming Portal.

Microsoft plans to have 50 game titles available via “Stream your own game” by the time the feature hits stable. It says it will provide more information about the Xbox Cloud Gaming experience on LG TVs “in the coming months.”
