Next Chance to Pre-Order Xbox One X Looks to be on 9/21

When the Xbox One X Scorpio Edition went on sale earlier this year, it sold out quickly. For those who want that limited edition console, it looks like you are out of luck but if you are ok with buying a regular edition of the Xbox One X, your chance to do so will happen this week.

Thanks to a WalMart ad, on September 21st, you will once again be able to pre-order the console. What is not known is if this will be available at other retails but I suspect that other vendors will be offering the same deal as well.

It would be odd for Microsoft to launch the non-Scorpio edition with only WalMart and this image, from what looks like an un-released ad from Walmart, is likely spoiling an announcement Microsoft has planned for this week.

The Xbox One X will be released on November 7th and based on the reaction to the release of the Scorpio edition, I’d expect this allotment of consoles to sell out quickly. Considering how close this device will be released to Christmas, if you are wanting to put one under the tree this year, it’s in your best interest to order a console now so that you don’t have to run around town trying to find one later this year.

I'm so tired of these console companies playing games with consumers. I would have liked to have had an NES classic, but they were scooped up so quickly and taken off the market within a year, so there was no chance. Is there ever going to be a time where we get back to having general availability for everyone? This Apple marketing trick is getting old fast.
