Microsoft Begins Rolling Out Xbox April Update

The Xbox April Update has begun rolling out, bringing improvements to audio/video, streaming and captures, and more.

“April is here, and it comes with a feature-packed update to Xbox One,” Microsoft’s Will Tuttle writes. “These new features will become available to Xbox One owners around the world over the next few days.”

Some key new features include:

Video and display improvements. With this update, Xbox One owners can now enjoy Auto Low-Latency Mode on supported displays, variable refresh rate output to AMD Radeon FreeSync and FreeSync 2 compatible displays, and (on Xbox One S and X) support for 1440p (2560 x 1440).

Game streaming and capture improvements. A new Mixer Interactive feature called Share Controller helps gamer broadcasters share control of their game streams with others. You can now start Mixer broadcasts from anywhere on Xbox One. And you can now share captured screenshots and clips directly to Twitter.

Personalization. The ability to switch between light and dark themes can be automated so that it happens at sunrise and sunset in your location. There is a new high-contrast light theme option as well.

Audio improvements. You can now selectively balance game audio and background music within the Guide. And system sounds on Home and in the Guide have been revamped to support spatial audio.

Microsoft Edge. Microsoft’s web browser is updated with a more modern look and feel, enhancements to history and favorites, tab muting, read aloud, autofill, and download and upload capabilities.

In reply to Jim_MAY:

Don't forget, MS know best. You obviously didn't want to play those two games anymore, and MS just reclaimed 73GB of storage for you! Don't question your overlords!!
