Xbox Launches “the Ultimate Game Sale”

Xbox today launched what it’s calling “the Ultimate Game Sale,” offering savings of up to 65 percent on games, plus big savings on Xbox Live Gold and Xbox Game Pass subscriptions, Xbox One X consoles, accessories, and more.

“Microsoft Store’s Ultimate Game Sale is back with a vengeance, giving Xbox fans hundreds of great deals,” Microsoft’s Will Tuttle explains. “While Ultimate Game Sale is our biggest ever, you need to jump all over these deals now because the sale runs for a limited time from July 19 to July 30.”

Well, That is interesting, given that Microsoft previously described a June 2018 sale as “the biggest Xbox sale of the year.” I guess they forgot to add the phrase “so far.”

Hyperbole aside, Xbox fans are going to want to check this one out. Here’s what’s on sale.

Games. “Save on over 700 Xbox games and add-on packs including popular titles like State of Decay 2, Sea of Thieves, Far Cry 5, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, Fortnite: Save the World Founders Pack, and more. As always, Xbox Live Gold members save up to 10% more on Xbox games.”

Subscriptions. One year of Xbox Live Gold is just $40, and three months of Xbox Game Pass is just $10.

Xbox One X. If you buy an Xbox One X, you will get a $30 Xbox gift card.

Xbox One S bundles. There are various Xbox One S bundles on sale, too. For example, if you purchase an Xbox One S 1TB Console – Minecraft Limited Edition Bundle, you will get a free Pig Controller.

PC games. Select Windows 10 games are up to 50 percent off, too.

The Ultimate Game Sale is available online at the Microsoft Store and Xbox.com, and at Microsoft retail stores. Remember, it runs through July 30.

I've already got Gold & Game Pass. Can I buy them again during this sale and just have the cheaper blocks of time added to my subscription, or would these be for new purchasers only? (I *hate* it when companies do that, especially when it's easy to change like car insurance – good way to make me look around for someone else offering such a deal)

In reply to IanYates82:

Use the Microsoft Store link. Using the Xbox link it says for new subscribers only. I didn't see that on the store page. I already had Xbox Gold. It added another year to my subscription. Don't have Game Pass. If I had more time to play I'm tempted to give it a try — only $10 for 3 months.

Was hoping that the PC version of the 2 year old Forza Horizon 3 would finally be reduced to a good price.

Gt excited when the store said "50% off!" Then realised the cheapest version is still £25. Joke.

For reference Battlefield 1 came out a month after and had been as cheap as £8.74 and DOOM was released a month before and has been down to £5.67.
