Flight Simulator Coming to Xbox Series X|S Next Month

Microsoft Flight Simulator is coming to Xbox Series X|S sooner than I expected, on July 27, and it will land on Xbox Game Pass the same day.

“Launching Microsoft Flight Simulator on PC last year was only the beginning of our journey to make the best simulation possible,” Microsoft’s Jorg Neumann writes. “As we continue adding to the experience with free World Updates, themed DLCs, and true-to-life aircraft, Xbox Series X|S simmers will enjoy these updates on console as well. [And] we continue to work with third-party partners to bring additional peripherals to Xbox Series X|S that will enhance your immersive console experience.”

If you’re an Xbox Game Pass member, you can preinstall Flight Simulator on Xbox Series X|S right now, Microsoft adds.

Supposed to run 4k 30fps. Which from what I’ve heard about performance with this game in general that is pretty good. Both new consoles are also to benefit from FSR (FidelityFX Super Resolution) which may give it more frames when it releases.

I wonder how much the move to DX12 is going to help the game. It is seriously held back due to the single threadedness of the game engine.
