Google is updating its company logo by using the new, four-color gradient “G” icon it first introduced on its Google Search mobile app earlier this year. This redesigned G icon now represents the entire company as it seeks to revamp its identity ten years after the four-color G icon made its debut.
“The new “Google G” now represents all of Google — both our brand and the company — and visually reflects our evolution in the AI era,” Google said today. “While staying true to Google’s iconic four colors, the brighter hues and gradient design symbolize the surge of AI-driven innovation and creative energy across our products and technology.”
This new gradient design for the G icon first made its debut on the Gemini mobile app in June. Over the weekend, Google also brought it to its Google Home, and the update comes right ahead of the various Gemini for Home updates the company is set to announce on Wednesday, October 1.
Google said today that it “will continue this update across more products, platforms and services over the coming months.” You can expect icons for the rest of the Google apps to also adopt this new gradient design, though this will likely take some time.
