Alienware Announces Upgraded Gaming Desktops With Nvidia RTX GPUs

Alienware is wasting no time with Nvidia’s hot new RTX GPUs. Nvidia just finished announcing its new line of RTX GPUs, which come with the new ray tracing capabilities and lots of other tech to enable huge upgrades in performance. And Alienware just took the wraps off its new gaming desktops that will make use of Nvidia’s brand new GPUs.

The company is upgrading the Alienware Aurora and Area 51 gaming desktops to include Nvidia’s new GPUs. Customers can now buy the machines with the new GeForce RTX 2070, 2080, or the 2080 Ti GPUs. The upgraded GPUs can enable up to 12K gaming — yes, 12. The rest of the machine remains unchanged, however.

Alienware is also upgrading its Alienware 15 and 17 gaming laptops to include per-key LED lighting, but that obviously doesn’t come with the new Nvidia GPUs.

These devices will obviously be really expensive. Keep in mind that the new RTX GPUs start at $799, and go up to $1,199 for the RTX 2080 Ti, so the pricing of the Alienware machines will vary depending on which GPU you choose. They will be available for purchase next month.
