Alienware Upgrades Popular m15 Gaming Powerhouse With New NVIDIA GPUs

Dell’s Alienware line is announcing two major upgrades for its line of gaming laptops at CES 2019. The company is introducing major upgrades for its popular m15 gaming laptop, and it’s also bringing a new 17-inch variant for gamers who prefer a bigger display.

The m15 is being upgraded with Intel’s new 8th gen processors, as well as a new Core i9 option. The company is even upgrading the GPU inside the device, with new Nvidia GPUs and GDDR6 RAM. The new 2019 m15 comes with Nvidia’s new GeForce RTX Graphics with up to 8GB of GDDR6 RAM — you can choose between the RTX 2060, 2070, or 2080, as well as the usual GTX 1050 Ti with GDDR5.

For the processor, you can now get the new 6-core Intel Core i9 8950HK processor, clocked at up to 4.5GHz with Turbo Boost. You can get up to 32GB of DDR4 RAM.

The device, which comes in Epic Silver and Nebula Red colors, is also available with new 4K UHD display with HDR 400 and up to 500 nits of brightness. The base model of the 15.6-inch display comes with a Full HD panel like before. Despite the internal upgrades, the m15 is apparently the thinnest Alienware laptop ever and the thinnest and lightest 15-inch device ever built by Alienware.

And then there is the new Alienware m17, the big brother to the m15. It has a 17.3-inch display (FHD or UHD, no 4K), comes in the same Epic Silver and Nebular Red colors, and the same processor, memory, and graphics options as the m15.

Both the new m15 and the m17 will be available on January 29, with the m15 starting at $1579.99 and the m17 starting at $1649.99.
